La Thuile

12th February 2019, 18 photos

Four more mid-term skiing days with James, in La Thuile this time, so that he could show me around the place he had his school trip last year. Excellent skiing on uncrowded pistes with no queues, even during our school holidays - well worth giving it a go.

200th

My 200th Munro (and 201st) after a Hogmanay wild camp near Braemar to see in the New Year. These 200 have taken 35 years or so - a rate at which the remaining 82 will take a very long time.

Mallorca Cycling

Tandeming holiday to Mallorca - the ultimate road cycling destination - 200-odd miles, all of it uphill, or it least it felt like that!

Wee Buachaille

A quick jaunt up the Wee Buachaille involving sunshine, wind, snow and rain.

Barjac

5th July 2018, 66 photos

Summer holiday by car to the little Medieval village of Barjac near the Ardeche Gorge, returning via Paris. Lovely hot weather in the south of France with lots of swimming in rivers to keep us cool. A holiday enjoyed with a backdrop of the World Cup in Russia and the growing excitement in France as they eased their way to the final during our stay.

Bagby Flyout 2018

20th May 2018, 13 photos

Terrific club flyout to hot and sunny Bagby airfield in Yorkshire allowing a few more recently qualified pilots to get some experience of what it's all about - with great flying and airmanship displayed by all of them throughout.

Chatel 2018

12th February 2018, 20 photos

Midterm skiing in Chatel/Portes du Soleil. Horrendous blizzards to start with followed by two and a half days of sunny weather and huge quantities of perfect snow. James is skiing well and it's "proper" skiing for me now, just to keep up!

Beinn a'Chuallaich

30th December 2017, 9 photos

Traditional Christmas hillwalk with Douglas. An atrocious mountain forecast meant chosing a tiddler but we found excellent light and views between the clouds at car level and the clouds at the summit - a day that hugely exceeded expectations.

Honeymoon in a Hurricane

Honeymoon trip to Glen Shiel and Speyside dodging as best we could, Hurricane ex-Ophelia. 3 bike days, 4 hill days, 1 big waterfall, 4 new Munros and 5 soakings!! But we loved it all!!
