A fine island wander, conveniently starting and ending at Bute airstrip and then a fun flight home round by Loch Lomond and down the middle of the Forth from Stirling to the bridges.

Saint Gervais 2020

Not quite our usual full-on sunshine skiing but we made the best of it, skiing Saint Gervais, Les Houches and Les Contamines. We were at least rewarded with one awesome sunshine day at Les Contamines. Finally, we witnessed the polishing of Saint Gervais town and the invasion of an army of machine-gun toting Gendarmes for the imminent arrival of President Macron to the town.

An Argentine Experience

A colourful experience in Argentina we will never forget. Scooted around Buenos Aires either side of a fly-drive tour of the far north-west, exploring the Andes and the deserts from a base at Salta where we 'enjoyed' some crazy roads, beautiful scenery and stomach-churning food poisoning.

Glen Rosa

Followed the weather to Arran, camped at Glen Rosa and then had a birthday walk up Goatfell from Glen Rosa. It's an excellent approach to the hill, even with a mild hangover!

Damp Gigha

The weather may have been damp but it couldn't dampen our spirits as an intrepid few made it to Gigha and fewer still stuck it out for the weekend and were rewarded with time to explore the island on foot rather than by air. Good company and always good fun - what microlighting is all about.

Torridon Mini Break

Crammed as much as possible into a day and a half of brilliant spring weather Torridon. Tandemed to Diabeag and then a longer circuit via Kinlochewe, Achnasheen and Lochcarron. Then bagged the southern/eastern Munro of Beinn Eighe on the last morning before the long drive home.

Four more mid-term skiing days with James, in La Thuile this time, so that he could show me around the place he had his school trip last year. Excellent skiing on uncrowded pistes with no queues, even during our school holidays - well worth giving it a go.

My 200th Munro (and 201st) after a Hogmanay wild camp near Braemar to see in the New Year. These 200 have taken 35 years or so - a rate at which the remaining 82 will take a very long time.
