A morning round of Helvellyn on route to the sail maker in Rochdale.
EOSM club flyout to Troutbeck in the Lake District, blessed by beautiful smooth flying conditions, continuous sunshine and occasional tailwinds. Why can't they all be like that?
Amazing holiday to the western USA showing Kim and James around all my favourite American destinations.
Gift voucher flight with old RBS chum who wanted to see some Munros. We must have seen 100, at least!
Followed the weather to Arran, camped at Glen Rosa and then had a birthday walk up Goatfell from Glen Rosa. It's an excellent approach to the hill, even with a mild hangover!
The weather may have been damp but it couldn't dampen our spirits as an intrepid few made it to Gigha and fewer still stuck it out for the weekend and were rewarded with time to explore the island on foot rather than by air. Good company and always good fun - what microlighting is all about.
Stob Coir an Albannaich and Meall nan Eun from camp in Glen Etive.
Crammed as much as possible into a day and a half of brilliant spring weather Torridon. Tandemed to Diabeag and then a longer circuit via Kinlochewe, Achnasheen and Lochcarron. Then bagged the southern/eastern Munro of Beinn Eighe on the last morning before the long drive home.
Four more mid-term skiing days with James, in La Thuile this time, so that he could show me around the place he had his school trip last year. Excellent skiing on uncrowded pistes with no queues, even during our school holidays - well worth giving it a go.
My 200th Munro (and 201st) after a Hogmanay wild camp near Braemar to see in the New Year. These 200 have taken 35 years or so - a rate at which the remaining 82 will take a very long time.
Tandeming holiday to Mallorca - the ultimate road cycling destination - 200-odd miles, all of it uphill, or it least it felt like that!
A quick jaunt up the Wee Buachaille involving sunshine, wind, snow and rain.
Summer holiday by car to the little Medieval village of Barjac near the Ardeche Gorge, returning via Paris. Lovely hot weather in the south of France with lots of swimming in rivers to keep us cool. A holiday enjoyed with a backdrop of the World Cup in Russia and the growing excitement in France as they eased their way to the final during our stay.
Ben Starav, Beinn Nan Aighenan and Glas Bheinn Mhor.
The story of the East Lothian haar on 28th May 2018, in pictures. If you want to know more, Google "Advection Fog". Or come and learn to fly a microlight at East of Scotland Microlights and we'll teach you all about this, and lots, lots more!!
Terrific club flyout to hot and sunny Bagby airfield in Yorkshire allowing a few more recently qualified pilots to get some experience of what it's all about - with great flying and airmanship displayed by all of them throughout.
