Futsal Wanderers 2 1 Graeme Tech 2
Futsal Wanderers 4 0 Cable and Wireless
Futsal Wanderers 0 1 Stow College

Futsal Wanderers won their group stage with four straight wins and a game in hand, and progressed to the semi-finals. There was nothing at stake for the Wanderers in their last group match but defeat to Stow College meant Stow also progressed, as group runners-up. The main talking points of the group section were the three terrific strikes from Ally Hamilton which ensured Wanderers victories over Scotland IS and Graeme Tech 2, and some wonderful counter-attacking play as the Wanderers slipped into top gear and took apart Cable and Wireless.

SEMI-FINAL

Futsal Wanderers 1 0 Group B Runners-up

The Wanderers were a little lucky to progress to the final thanks to a Nick Wood effort which took an outrageous deflection and looped over the helpless keeper. A strong penalty claim was survived and some diligent defending and top-class goalkeeping from stand-in keeper Allan Edgar saw out the remainder of the game.

FINAL

Futsal Wanderers 1 3 Stow College

The Wanderers were well beaten in the final by Stow College. Down to an early goal, with heavy legs and no substitues available they struggled to match the younger, fitter and more numerous College. More heroic goalkeeping from Allan Edgar kept the score respectable but the late strike by Graeme Ritchie was little more than a consolation.

All in all it was another disappointing runners-up medal for the Wanderers. There were two plus points though; Ally Hamilton deservedly collected the Scotland IS Man of the Tournament award, and Allan Edgar's performance as stand-in keeper after Dave Hood's early departure was a revelation and confounded all the critics.
