Edinburgh by Microlight     fullscreen slideshow | other albums

My first microlight trip over the centre of Edinburgh since the rules were changed to allow us to fly over built up areas. The powers that be have at last realised that bits don't regularly fall off modern microlights like they used to do in the early days of the sport. Route was East Fortune - Musselburgh - City Centre - Braid Hills - Dalkeith - East Fortune, all at 2000 feet. At 80mph it was over very quickly and I was surprised to note that modern sporting arenas of Easter Road, Tynecastle and Murrayfield were more prominent than the Castle and other more traditional architectural features that I was expecting to stand out.
